So it look likes your hand is pretty red there, how long has it been like that for? >> A couple of days. >> Pretty painful? >> Yeah. >> Yeah this looks like cellulitus infection of the hand. Probably need some antibiotics. Thou we're going to get some blood work, just make sure you don't have any signs of kind of bad systemic infection. Get an x-ray, just make sure there's nothing stuck in there that's causing that infection. You'll probably need to stay for awhile for some IV antibiotics, to make sure that it's getting better before we send you home. And we'll send you home on some antibiotics by mouth, pills. And you should do okay. Any questions? >> Nope. >> Okay sounds good. >> Thanks. >> Alright, sure. >> So I think he did an okay job with that. What do you think? >> Yeah I think it was an okay job, he was kind of confident in his plan and how he was going to manage that patient, so I think that was a decent manager level. >> And what do you think he, what do you think he could have done better? >> So I think the one thing for me that was missing from that was the patient-centered aspect to being a good manager. So he says he's going to admit him but you know, he might ask, so how is this going to effect, does he have a significant other at home? Does he have children at home that he's got to attend to. You know, that's kind of I think, if I was a patient, like I come in, my hand's a little bit red, now all of a sudden I'm getting admitted. >> Mm-hm. >> I might want to have a little bit more empathy about that, or have a little bit more of, what's my understanding of, going to affect my life, am I going to go to work tomorrow? >> Mm-hm. Mm-hm. >> All that kind of stuff. >> Yeah. >> He really did kind of say, you know, this is cellulitis, he kind of explained a little bit and then went dink, dink, dink, dink, dink, these are the steps, and didn't really give the patient a chance to ask questions along the way. So, at the end the patient may not have understood step one by time he got to step five and so he wouldn't know really what to ask at that point. >> Right and so I think we could give this learner a feedback on that and then again remember for Ryan we want to try and get that next level. >> Mm-hm. >> So we want to talk about finessing the manager level because he did a decent job but, just needed to do a few more things than talk about ,what he could have done to educate that patient and those kind of actually go hand in hand a little bit with that patient-centric care. So by probably being a little more patient-centric, we probably could have also even brought him almost to an educator level. >> Mm-hm. >> In this particular case, that won't always work. But here it might have. >> Okay, that's really helpful. Thank you. >> Mm-hm.
