[MUSIC] Welcome to Salesforce fundamentals. In this demo, we will be covering playground management, platform and user basics, and introduction to Lightning Experience. The first module focuses on getting your feet wet in Trailhead and understanding how to use Salesforce. You'll set up your playground, change your username and password, and install apps and packages. You'll then move on to Salesforce basics and complete your first task on creating an object, which I'll demo in just a few minutes. Lastly, you'll read through several modules and take three question quizzes to gain your badges. These modules in platform and user basics and introduction to Lightning Experience are conceptual modules that will help you understand how to implement Salesforce into any organization. Now, we'll close these tabs and demo the custom objects. As you get your experience with Salesforce Trailhead, most of these challenges will have you do pre-work before you take on the actual challenge. So, we're going to go ahead and launch our Trailhead, and have that open up, and we'll follow along with the challenge that is presented here. So this is how your Trailhead management will look like and this is where you'll primarily work. In this particular challenge, we're going to be working in the setup function, which I like to call the back end. As that gets loaded, we're going to start reading through the instructions. From the gear icon, click Setup to launch the setup pages. We use Setup a lot. So you'll click on Object Manager, and then click on Contact, click on Object Manager followed by Contact. Once you've clicked on Contact, you'll want to go back and make sure that you're following the instructions here. You're going to go to Fields & Relationships and click New. Once you have done that, you'll follow down to the Checkbox function and click Next. In the Field Label, you'll enter the name, enter Prequalified with question mark. And the Default Value would be Unchecked. Once you've done this, click Next. You don't have to worry about this. So click Next and Save. Once you have completed this, you'll move on to the actual challenge itself. So many homebuyers who work with DreamHouse Realty are prequalified for a home loan. Brokers need to know how much money their clients can borrow so they can show properties at the right price range and add a Prequalified Amount field to the Contact objects so brokers can record and see this information to pass this challenge. You'll need to create a new custom field. And in addition to the one that you completed earlier, so we're going to create a custom field in the Contact object, the field data type is going to be Currency, and the field label is going to be a Loan Amount. So as usual, you'll launch your Trailhead account, click on Setup, and it'll bring you to the Object Manager here. You'll want to search for Contact, and once you've done Contact, you're going to go to Fields & Relationships and click New. Once you do this, it'll bring you up to the setup wizard, and we're going to look for Currency as a new object to add. We'll click Next. The Field Label would be Loan Amount. And this stays the same, Field Name will automatically populate, and here is where you want to describe what this is for. So Prequalified Amount. Once you've completed that, you can click Next. Click Next since you don't have to worry about this, and Save. Now that this is done, you'll come down and verify that you've added the relationship here, Loan Amount, Currency, and you are good to go. Once you've completed this, you'll Check Challenge and you'll earn your badge.
